Namibian President Nujoma Urges Support for Angola

Namibian President Sam Nujoma has called on southern African countries to support Angola in sensitising the donor community to the war-ravaged country's needs. During his State visit to Angola on Monday, June 3, President Nujoma congratulated the Angolan government on signing a memorandum of understanding with Unita and called on the international community to support the reconstruction programme in that country. He said there was a need to render humanitarian assistance to the people of Angola.

Nujoma, accompanied by a delegation of more than 100 people, signed a treaty on the delimitation and demarcation of marine boundaries with Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos. The President's visit was aimed at reinforcing relations between the two countries. The two heads of state also reviewed the situation in southern Africa. (THE NAMIBIAN)
