Unexploded mines found in Ohangwena
THE police have found three landmines at Oshipala village near Eenhana in the Ohangwena Region since the beginning of the year.
The chief of the demining and debushing team of the Namibian Police, who were clearing the area between Etomba and Omundaungilo villages, found three unexploded landmines in the area between between January 15 and February 2.
Chief Inspector John Nangutuuala of the Ohangwena police said ammunition, 60mm mortars and M75 hand grenades were also discovered. According to Nangutuuala all these explosives are from the liberation war and have been destroyed.
