Country and China sign Cooperation Accords

A cooperation accord between the Republic of Angola and the People's Republic of China and another of economic cooperation between the two Governments were signed on Wednesday, in Beijing.
The signing ceremony took place after high level talks, between both countries, in the framework of the trip of the Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, to the Asian nation. The act was also witnessed by the Chinese leader, Hu Jintao, in a ceremony held at the Noble Hall of the Great People Palace. The two countries also signed juridical tools in the fields of culture and air transports.

To the Angolan minister of Foreign Affairs, Assunção dos Anjos, one of the officials who signed the documents, "it is a remarkable moment, because it effectively enables the achievement of other more specific agreements in diverse areas". In his turn, the minister of Transports, Augusto Tomas, said that those are important documents, "part of the reinforcement of friendship and cooperation ties between the two countries, at a moment that Angola is experiencing a restructuring process in its transport sector.

After the signing ceremony of the accords, the Angolan president attended an official dinner offered by his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao. On Thursday, the Angolan head of State will visit at the Development Museum of Beijing, an exhibition of the Master Plan of Beijing Development. (Angola Press Agency)
