President Dos Santos sacks and appoints new cabinet ministers

Angola’s head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, has dismissed the minister of Transports, André Luís Brandão, and the State secretary for Public Enterprise, Augusto da Silva Tomas. The reasons for the dismissals were not expressed. According to a communiqué issued by the Support Services to the President of the Republic, were also sacked the deputy ministers of Territory Administration, Luís de Assunção Pedro da Mota Liz, and of Urbanism and Environment, Graciano Francisco Domingos. President Dos Santos also dismissed the deputy governor of Luanda province for social sphere, Francisca do Espirito Santos, and the head of Military Judiciary Police of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) General Staff.

However, the head of State, José Eduardo dos Santo, appointed Augusto da Silva Tomás as the minister of Transports, Francisca do Espirito Santo to the post of Luanda governor, and Graciano Francisco Domingos as the deputy minister of Territory Administration. Luís de Assunção Pedro da Mota Liz was appointed to the post of deputy minister of Urbanism and Environment, lieutenant general Hélder Fernando Pitra Grós as the deputy attorney general of the Republic for military sphere of the Angolan Armed Forces and military attorney of FAA. José Alberto Quipungo was promoted to the post of deputy governor of northern Kwanza Norte province. The press release from the Aid Service to the President of the Republic states that issues related to the State Secretariat of Public Enterprise will be handled by the deputy minister of Finance, Job Graça, up to the nomination of the new minister of the sector.
