Programme to fight poverty estimated to costs US$ three billion
The first phase of the programme to combat poverty in Angola, elaborated by the Planning Ministry, will need about US$3 Billion, destined for the development of actions based on the sectors of social reintegration, food security, rural development, health and education. The fact was revealed by adviser Carlos Filipe, member of the Non-Governmental Organisations Forum (FONGA), which currently gathers over 200 non- governmental organisations. According to him, the initial phase of the programme, projected until 2007, includes also the components of good governance, stabilisation of the national economy and the fight against HIV/AIDS, having as main financier the State Budget.
