Walter Sauer (Hg.), k. u. k. kolonial. Habsburgermonarchie und europäische Herrschaft in Afrika
On the one hand, the Habsburg Monarchy only marginally was in possession of colonial territories in Africa. On the other, Austrian-Hungarian political, economic and cultural institutions acted in various ways to further the advancement of west european colonialism. Based on findings of modern British and French colonial history research, this book critically examines these activities.
Contributions to this volume, partly for the first time, had access to archival sources in Budapest, Brno und Prag so that a comprehensive picture of colonial attitues in the Habsburg empire could be given. Contribution come from Georg F. Hamann, Petra Kakuska, Barbara
Köfler, Barbara Plankensteiner, Walter Sauer, Endre Stiansen, Andreas
Szabo and Michael Zach.
