Library

Thousands of books and documents are kept in the SADOCC library which makes specific information on Southern Africa accessible in a unique way.

Computer research as well as fotocopying facilities are available.

Opened in 1993, the library presently includes the following material:

  • Library
    approx. 12.000 titles (books, academic studies, grey literature) mainly on Southern African history, politics, economics, societies and culture
    approx. 3.500 computerized articles from academic journals
    approx. 100 current newspapers and journals

  • Collection of press clippings
    mainly from Austrian newspapers on Southern African developments since the early 70ies (some papers back to 1945)

  • Posters
    approx. 200 posters of Anti-Apartheid activities and of events in Southern Africa

  • Photo and video collection
    approx. 2000 photos and approx. 200 videos on Southern African issues
